Adenosine Deaminase (ADA)-AF
What does Adenosine Deaminase (ADA)-AF measure?
This test measures adenosine deaminase (ADA) activity in ascitic fluid, which is fluid that can collect in the abdomen. It may be used to help evaluate the cause of ascites, particularly when tuberculosis-related infection of the abdominal lining is being considered. ADA levels may also be interpreted alongside symptoms, imaging findings, and other laboratory tests, as elevated levels can occur in more than one condition.
