What does Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) - Serum measure?
The Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH) test measures the level of LDH, an enzyme found in many body tissues, including the heart, liver, muscles, kidneys and blood cells. Increased LDH levels may indicate tissue injury or cell breakdown, but are not specific to one condition. This test may be used to help assess certain blood disorders, liver disease, muscle injury, infections, or other conditions associated with tissue damage.
