Pregnancy Test
What does Pregnancy Test measure?
A pregnancy test detects human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), a hormone that is usually produced after a fertilized egg implants in the uterus. It may be used to help confirm or rule out pregnancy, including when menstrual periods are delayed or pregnancy-related symptoms are present. Healthcare professionals may also use hCG testing to support evaluation of early pregnancy when interpreted alongside symptoms, examination findings, and other tests.
