Hemoglobin
What does Hemoglobin measure?
The hemoglobin test measures the amount of hemoglobin, an oxygen-carrying protein in red blood cells. It may be used to help assess oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood and to evaluate conditions associated with low or high red blood cell levels, such as anemia or dehydration. Healthcare professionals may order it as part of a routine health check, during evaluation of symptoms such as fatigue or weakness, or to monitor certain medical conditions.
