Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) 1 & 2 IgG
What does Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) 1 & 2 IgG measure?
This test measures IgG antibodies to herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2. IgG antibodies may indicate past exposure to HSV and can remain detectable long term. It may be used to support evaluation of a history of oral or genital herpes symptoms, assess prior exposure when current infection is suspected, or help guide clinical discussions in certain situations. Results should be interpreted alongside symptoms, medical history, and other relevant tests.
