Widal Test (Slide Test)
What does Widal Test (Slide Test) measure?
The Widal slide test detects antibodies in the blood that may react with antigens from Salmonella bacteria, including those associated with typhoid and paratyphoid fever. It may be used to support the evaluation of persistent fever and other symptoms that could suggest enteric fever. Results should be interpreted alongside symptoms, medical history, local disease patterns, and other laboratory findings, as antibody reactions can occur for reasons other than current infection.
