IHC - CK - (Outlab)
What does IHC - CK - (Outlab) measure?
This immunohistochemistry (IHC) test detects cytokeratin (CK), a group of proteins commonly found in epithelial cells. It may be used to help identify whether abnormal cells are of epithelial origin and to support the evaluation and classification of certain cancers, particularly carcinomas. CK staining patterns can also help distinguish carcinoma from some non-epithelial tumours. Results are interpreted together with tissue findings, other marker tests, and clinical information.
