IHC - CK(HMW) - (Outlab)
What does IHC - CK(HMW) - (Outlab) measure?
This immunohistochemistry (IHC) test detects high-molecular-weight cytokeratin (CK HMW), a protein found in certain epithelial cells. It may be used when examining tissue to help identify the cell type and support distinction between different tumours or between benign and malignant-looking tissue changes. CK HMW staining can be particularly useful in evaluating basal, squamous, urothelial, and some prostate-related tissue patterns. Results are interpreted with other laboratory findings and clinical information.
