IHC - Calponin - (Outlab)
What does IHC - Calponin - (Outlab) measure?
Calponin immunohistochemistry (IHC) evaluates calponin, a protein commonly found in smooth muscle cells and myoepithelial cells. It may be used to help identify these cell types in tissue and support the assessment of certain tumours or other tissue changes. In some settings, it can help distinguish lesions with preserved myoepithelial cells from those in which these cells are absent. Results are interpreted together with tissue appearance and other laboratory findings.
