IHC - GFAP - (Outlab)
What does IHC - GFAP - (Outlab) measure?
This immunohistochemistry (IHC) test evaluates glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP), a marker commonly expressed in astrocytes and certain nervous system tumors. It may be used to help characterize tissue findings, support identification of glial or astrocytic differentiation, and assist in distinguishing between different types of tumors or other tissue changes. Results are interpreted with the tissue appearance and other laboratory markers.
