What does IHC - S-100 - (Outlab) measure?
This immunohistochemistry test detects S-100 protein expression in cells. S-100 is a marker found in several normal and abnormal cell types, including melanocytic and nerve-related cells. It may be used to help evaluate suspected melanoma, nerve sheath tumours, certain histiocytic disorders, or other lesions where cell origin needs clarification. Results are interpreted together with microscopic findings, other marker tests, and clinical information.
