About test

What does IHC - P53 - (Outlab) measure?

This immunohistochemistry (IHC) test evaluates p53 protein expression in tissue cells. p53 is a tumour suppressor protein involved in controlling cell growth and repairing DNA damage. The test may be used alongside microscopic examination and other markers to help assess certain cancers, support tumour classification, or provide information about possible TP53 gene-related changes. Results are interpreted by a pathologist in the context of clinical findings and other laboratory tests.
