ANTIBIOGRAM - MTB (PAS)

About test

What does ANTIBIOGRAM - MTB (PAS) measure?

This test evaluates the susceptibility of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (MTB) to para-aminosalicylic acid (PAS), an anti-tuberculosis medicine. It may be used when MTB has been identified to help assess whether the organism is likely to respond to PAS and to support treatment planning, particularly in suspected drug-resistant tuberculosis. Results should be interpreted together with other laboratory findings and the patient’s clinical context.
