ANTI NUCLEAR ANTIBODIES (ANA)
What does ANTI NUCLEAR ANTIBODIES (ANA) measure?
The ANA test detects antinuclear antibodies, which are antibodies that may react with components inside the body’s cells. It may be used to help evaluate autoimmune conditions, particularly when clinical findings suggest an immune-related disorder. A positive result does not by itself confirm a specific condition, as these antibodies can also be present in some healthy individuals or other medical situations. Results are interpreted together with symptoms, examination findings, and other laboratory tests.
