DIRECT COOMBS TEST
What does DIRECT COOMBS TEST measure?
The Direct Coombs Test, also called the direct antiglobulin test, detects antibodies or complement proteins attached to red blood cells. It may be used to help evaluate immune-related destruction of red blood cells, including suspected haemolytic anaemia, reactions following blood transfusion, or certain newborn blood conditions. Results are interpreted together with medical history, symptoms, and other laboratory findings.
