HEPATITIS C VIRUS - IGG
What does HEPATITIS C VIRUS - IGG measure?
This test detects IgG antibodies to hepatitis C virus (HCV), which may indicate past or ongoing exposure to the virus. It may be used to help screen people with risk factors for HCV infection, investigate abnormal liver test results, or assess possible previous hepatitis C exposure. A positive antibody result does not by itself confirm an active infection; additional testing may be needed to determine whether the virus is currently present.
