INDIRECT COOMBS TEST
What does INDIRECT COOMBS TEST measure?
The Indirect Coombs Test, also called the indirect antiglobulin test, detects antibodies in the blood that may react with red blood cells. It may be used before blood transfusion to help identify potentially incompatible blood, during pregnancy to assess the risk of antibody-related effects on a fetus or newborn, or when evaluating suspected immune reactions involving red blood cells. Results are interpreted along with medical history and other laboratory findings.
