IRON
What does IRON measure?
This test measures the level of iron in the blood. Iron is a mineral needed to make haemoglobin, which helps red blood cells carry oxygen. It may be used along with other iron studies to help evaluate iron status, investigate possible iron deficiency or excess, or assess certain types of anaemia. Results are interpreted in the context of other laboratory findings and clinical information.
