RHEUMATOID FACTOR (RF)
What does RHEUMATOID FACTOR (RF) measure?
This test measures rheumatoid factor (RF), an antibody that may be present in the blood in some autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. It may be ordered to help evaluate joint pain, swelling, stiffness, or other findings that could be associated with rheumatoid arthritis or related disorders. RF results are interpreted along with symptoms, physical examination, and other laboratory tests, as RF can also be detected in some people without rheumatoid arthritis.
