What does VDRL (RPR) FOR SYPHILIS measure?
This blood test detects non-specific antibodies that may be associated with syphilis infection. It may be used to help screen for syphilis, support evaluation when infection is suspected, or monitor changes after treatment when interpreted with other clinical information and, if needed, confirmatory testing. A reactive result does not by itself confirm syphilis, as other conditions may sometimes affect the result.
